From the Golden slopes of Gisborne, this long-time Fine Wine Delivery customer favourite is famed for its regional flavour expression. 100% Mendoza clone, it is aged on lees for 11 months adding creamy richness and texture. 10% of the barrels from their flagship Iliad Chardonnay are included in the final blend adding greater depth and complexity. Traditionally consistent and well-priced... this 2023 continues that tradition.
Smells
Swirl the glass to release golden peach, and pineapple, with a lively lift of cream of soda, spearmint, and toasty oak aromas.
Tastes
Mouth-filling and creamy on entry, yielding ripe stone and citrus fruits with creamy, buttery leesy richness and toasty oak complexity. Its lithe acidity on the finish will work nicely with fatty white meat and poultry dishes and peak around 2026. For optimal drinking pleasure the recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
