Description
The Saint Clair wines are prolific in both independent retail, grocery and are served in some of the country’s best restaurants and bars. So, it may surprise some of you to know that Saint Clair has been family owned by Marlborough pioneers Neal and Judy Ibbotson since 1978. New to the Saint Clair family is the range of Origin wines, a line only available in fine wine retail, the range offers superb drinking at around $20 whilst having plenty of complexity, structure and expensive winemaking thrown at it.
Smells
Loaded with ripe stone fruit notes of yellow peach and nectarine, toasted hazelnuts and a slight saline aroma. The oak component is pronounced but in great balance.
Tastes
Rich and mouth filling with a creamy texture and long length. Notes of ripe tropical fruits are balanced with baking spice and vanilla notes from the oak. Enjoy over the next 5 years with roast chicken or simply good conversation.
