Description
Howell Vineyard was renowned for its stunning Cabernet Franc produced by Pyramid Valley. Smith & Sheth now lease this vineyard and that same quality level resonates throughout all the varieties produced on this outstanding vineyard. Needless to say, no expense is spared on these wines. Hand-picked Mendoza fruit off 25+-year-old vines was fermented and aged in 50% new French oak for 10 months. This is a wine of serious complexity and length and will age gracefully for 5 years and beyond. Best enjoyed with good company and good food.
Smells
Vibrant grapefruit and tropical fruit, with cashew nut, saline, and smoky complexities.
Tastes
Textural and full, with balancing acid giving the rich creamy palate structure and length. Ripe tropical fruit accentuated by roasted nut and burnt butter notes – flavours that will become more rounded and creamier with further ageing. Serve with your favourite vegetarian dishes or roasted white meats.
