Description
Central Otago is renowned for its Pinot Noirs, and less so for its Chardonnays, well times are a changing……And this Te Kano Northburn Chardonnay 2020 highlights the class and potential this region has to offer. Watch this space as more and more top-notch Chardonnays emerge from our Southernmost grape-growing region. From their estate vineyard Northburn, a single sub-region and where only 2 barrels (600 bottles) were made. That means very little to go around!!!! What a shame, just don’t delay and buy a bottle or two while you can.
Smells
pure and focused aromas grapefruit, red apples, a mineral layering spliced with greengages, wild fennel, and toasted sourdough.
Tastes
a salivating, juicy core of fruit with fine acidity encasing the fruit, makes for a harmonious picture. A stunning wine with nectarine, peach and grapefruit flavours interwoven with toasty oak, hazelnuts, and citrus notes, all leading to a mouth-watering finish. Drinking well now through 2027 and serve with summer salads and goats cheese.
