Description

Chablis is located in the North of Burgundy, covering the hillsides running alongside the Serein Valley. The main bedrock comes from the Jurassic epoch, or more precisely the Kimmeridgian age (150 million years ago). Deposits of tiny oysters can still be found today in the rock, remains of a time when the sea was totally covering this territory. This cuvée “Gloire de Chablis” is a tribute to the Cistercian movement honoured for 11 centuries in the area. If you have never tried Chablis, this is the perfect place to start.

Smells

Rich, salty, saline, and leesy aromas are underpinned by stone fruit, red apples, and fresh fennel.

Tastes

A wine showing superb texture, richness, and balance. Riper flavours of rock melon, white nectarines and pears are intertwined with oily, salty brine notes and crushed fresh herbs. The oily, yet chalky texture brings balance to the dense core of fruit leading to the classic Chablis lemon pith acidity and stone-sucking firmness on the long, precise finish. Drinking superbly now through 2028 and pair with oysters.
